World Psychiatric Association (WPA)’s Thematic Congress on Mental Health in New Era

Honour for a young officer of C3A:

Ms Khadija Sultan, an officer of Centre for Counselling and Career Advisory (C3A) and a recent graduate from S3H in MS Clinical Psychology, has won 2nd position in World Psychiatric Association’s Thematic Conference.

The conference was held in Karachi, Pakistan from 3rd-5th March, 2023, where Ms Khadija Sultan presented her research about proximal and distal risk factors for increasing suicide rates in Gilgit Baltistan (GB), carried out under the supervision of Dr Salma Siddiqui (Dean S3H). Ms Khadija Sultan was also awarded ‘WPA Fellowship award’ along with additional cash prize.

Around 2000 renowned international and national psychiatrists, psychologists and medical specialists from 39 countries participated in this conference. World Psychiatric Association has also accredited Ms Khadija Sultan with 26 credit points for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in her field.

C3A wants to extend special gratitude towards proactive encouragement and support of Pro-Rector (Academics) Dr Osman Hasan in facilitating the whole process.
