Seminar on ‘Social Media: Modern Day Security Blanket’

Centre for Counselling & Career Advisory (c3A) organized a seminar on ‘Social Media: Modern Day Security Blanket’ on 7^th March 2023 at NBS seminar hall. The objective of the seminar was to develop understanding about the role of social media in terms of distorting our sense of reality and its impact on our self-esteem. Further, it focused on the positive and negative usage of social media and its effect on our physiology.

Distinguished guest speaker, Ms Sidra Akhtar elaborated on the role of social media and how it is influencing individuals of all age groups and different walks of life. She further explained its impact on our mental and physical well-being.

Mr Ali Hasnain Sayed, Director C3A, presented the esteemed guest speaker with a souvenir. He also reflected on the importance of mental health during all phases of life. He further explained that managing to interact with these social media platforms is an important step towards bettering both our physical and emotional wellbeing.

Overall, the seminar was interactive and activity based and we received positive feedback from our participants.
