C3A Team Strengthens Student Support in Recent PNEC Visit

The Centre for Counselling and Career Advisory (C³A) conducted a comprehensive visit to the Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC) from 27^th November to 1^st December 2023, focusing on various aspects of student well-being, mental health, and academic support. The initiatives encompassed a C³A orientation session, guided by Director Mr. Ali Hasnain Sayed, introducing freshmen to the array of services available through technology such as the Qalam Portal & MS Teams. Additionally, Psychologist Maham Rizwan conducted a Mental Health Awareness Raising session addressing stress, anxiety, and depression.

Senior Psychologist Ayesha Mujeeb led a Basic Counselling Skills training session for student advisors, equipping them to address student concerns effectively. Senior Career Counsellor Sidra Azhar delivered an online lecture on Career Management and Planning to second-year students, providing guidance on self-awareness and career exploration.

Meetings with the commandant of PNEC and the Disciplinary Committee were arranged to discuss holistic student support and the effective handling of harassment and discipline-related cases. Individual counseling sessions were organized, and students were apprised of the availability of online sessions, emphasizing accessibility and flexibility.

In addition, a collaborative meeting with the Department of Education at Karachi University was also arranged, aiming to explore potential collaborations between the Department of Education faculty and Team C³A for enhancing student support and providing faculty training.
