Seminars and Workshops Panel Discussion on ““Emotional, Behavioral and Psychological Impact of Covid 19 on Academia: Addressing the fear of Uncertainty”

Centre for Counselling and Career Advisory (C3A) organized a panel discussion on “Emotional, Behavioral and Psychological Impact of Covid 19 on Academia: Addressing the fear of Uncertainty” on 22 February 2022. Brig ® Zulfiqar Ali Baig, Director Administration was the chief guest of the event. The aim of the session was to understand the multi-dimensional impacts of COVID-19 on overall psychological well-being. It also addressed the challenges faced by faculty and students in adapting to the hybrid mode of education and the role of media in the “New Normal”

Mr. Ali Hasnain Sayed, Dir SAC, welcomed the panelists and the audience. He reflected on the challenges that were faced collectively as well as in our respective domains and how it has affected our overall lives in general. Members of the panel, Professor Dr. Mowadat Hussain Rana, Professor Dr. Salma Siddiqui, and Dr. Rakshinda Perveen graced the occasion with their presence.

Professor Dr. Mowadat Hussain Rana (Psychiatrist), talked about the mental health trends during the pandemic. He also shared his perspective in light of public health.   Dr. Salma Siddiqui (Dean, S3H) spoke about the academic challenges and reflected on coping mechanisms. Dr. Rakshinda Perveen (Social Activist/media person) explained the role of media and the trend of infodemics during the pandemic.

Brig ® Zulfiqar Ali Baig, Director Administration (Chief guest) concluded the session by highlighting the efforts made by NUST in vogue of the pandemic. Furthermore, he presented the honorable panelists with souvenirs.
